Plastic Free Single Seal Paper Straw

MVI ECOPACK single-seal structure paper straw requires unique quality inspections. Tests include: 1. Water absorption test (To ensure the straw will last in drinks for not less than 3 hours.) Immerse straw paper in water Record weight gain against time intervals 2. Binding edge evaluation (To ensure the binding edge is firmly sealed) Immerse straw in 85°C water Check for any breakage along the binding edge 3. 75% alcohol resistance test (To ensure the printed surface is isolated from drinks) Rub the printed surface with 75% alcohol for 10X. Check for any color bleeding 4. Color inspection (To ensure the closest color matching) Color is checked under 5500K light source The printed color should be a close match to the customer"s pantone

Our paper straw will perform better with new paper in the sense of wet strength in drinks. However, our "philosophy" in developing our paper straw is different from normal paper straws. Normal paper straw needs more paper (more ply, higher gsm, and wet strength paper) to provide better strength in drinks. Our plastic free paper straw, in the contrary, uses water-based barrier coating (WBBC) to replace glue and wet strength agents in normal paper straws paper. The single-layer structure of our straw will provide the users with a tender and comfortable mouth feel instead of rigid feel in normal paper straws.
